How to Keep Your Face Acne-Free and Presentable

We all want to look great, who doesn't? The face is the number one thing people look at when they look at you. So it is important to keep it Acne Free, Fresh and Presentable. Here are some things that you can do to keep your face in top shape. Most of my tips come from personal experiences; they may not work for every condition. Here we go!

Washing
Wash your face several times a day. For people with normal skin: wash your face at least twice a day, for people with oily skin: wash your face at least 3 times a day.

Oily vs. Normal Skin type
When you have oily skin, like I do, your face tends to be shinier than everybody else. Base on my experiences, one way to reduce the shine and keep your face acne free, fresh and presentable is to wash it with an "oil free" cleanser that have at least 2% of salicylic acid.

Face Scrubs
It is also best to use good face scrub at least every other day. When choosing a face scrub or cleanser, make sure you choose one that is compatible with your skin type. For example, if your skin type is normal, buy skin care products that are labeled Normal; if your skin type is oily, buy products that are labeled Oily. People with oily skin can also buy skincare products that are labeled: Oily/Combination, but it is best to use those that are labeled Oily only.

Read the Labels!
It is important to read the skin type labels on skin care products, otherwise you may end up buying something that is not working for you or you end up buying something that makes your condition worse. Believe me I have been there!

Keep Your Hands off Your Face
You have heard as a kid: "Don't put your hands in your mouth or you gonna get sick." Now I'm telling you as a teen or young adult: "Don't put your hands to your face or you gonna make your acne problem worse." The hand is one of the dirtiest parts of our body. We use it to do almost everything: opening doors, scratching, handshakes, touching money, ECT.

So you see, it Can and Does collects a lot of bacteria and germs. When you put your hands to your face, you doing nothing but spreading these germs and bacteria to your face, hence worsening your acne problem. If you want an acne free, fresh and presentable face, one thing you must do is to Keep Your Hands off Your Face!

Powders and Foundations
When it comes to powders and foundations, follow the same guidelines. Buy powders and foundations that go with your skin type AND with your skin tone.Finding a powder/foundation that perfectly complements your skin tone is essential in keeping your face acne free, fresh and presentable.

When choosing a powder/foundation, I always try it on the back of my hand first. I put a little bit on the back of my left hand and I rub it with a makeup sponge. If it disappears, without leaving any "traceable stain" on my hand, then I know it's the right powder/foundation for my skin tone. If it's not the right powder/foundation, it will disappear, but it will leave a "traceable stain" on the back of the hand.
This trick always work for me, I hope it can work for you too! For people with Normal skin, a basic power/foundation is best and for those with Oily skin, make sure you use a Fragrance Free Oil-Control Powder/foundation.

Eat Healthy
In addition to good hygiene, healthy eating and exercise are essential in keeping your face acne free, fresh and presentable.
Cut down on greasy foods, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water.
